You stare at yourself
The face in the mirror
Your mind getting clearer
You realize
The endless trial
You face with a smile
You stare at yourself
It’s okay though
You absolutely know
Because your mind is guaranteed
The horrors of time
Of people
Or crime
Is all
All in your head
You stare at yourself
How could you
A person of doubt
A person of chance
Create such
Such a menagerie
Of people
Good and bad?
Of time
Fast and slow
Ruined and broken
You stare at yourself
You know
You are aware
Of people at their low
At their high
All within their roller coasters
But you know
It’s all you
All the problems you face
All the problems they face
You know
You stare at yourself
The face in the mirror
Getting brighter and dimmer
Getting older and younger
The universe is large
Time itself is larger
But you know
You break down
Tears flowing
The news blaring
A murder here
A disease there
All your own doing?
If your mind is the only thing
Then how could it be so fickle?
So ruthless
So broken
As the light hits your face
You stare at yourself
You imagine the view
From mountains
Of oceans
You internalize the beauty
Your face in the mirror
The tears are gone
Replaced by wonder
If your mind is guaranteed
Then you can proceed
As life is precious
And you are yourself
You are the creator
Of yin and yang
You imagine the balance
Of time
Of space
You don't need your mirror
To stare at yourself
Because you are everywhere
And everything
You stand up strong
You stare at yourself
You stand assured
That time precedes you
But you are forever
The face in the mirror
That face
That face
Is you
You stare at yourself
And you are strong
